At the end of the training, you can develop your own app idea. You can work as an Indie developer and even establish your own business.
This is not a classroom lecture, it's an extreme apprenticeship. You'll write code on Day One and build your first app on Day Two. You'll work through projects, problems, and challenges with your teammates. When you get stuck, we're right there to help you get back on track. We'll be your guide—we don't give you answers, we teach you how to fish. After 4 weeks, you'll have learned to find or make your own solutions. Just like in the real world.
Weeks 0 through 1 : This portion is structured like a real dev shop, where you'll work independently and in teams. You'll learn Objective-C so you can be valuable to employers and clients. And you'll move fast with new topics introduced daily, including Apple's new language, Swift.Your work begins with about 10 hours of work to complete before you arrive, which will get you ready for paired-programming and building more than 3 small iPhone apps in the first week. Morning sessions with our expert instructors and afternoon challenges reinforce software development patterns, techniques, tools and code skills needed as a developer. We're telling you now: You won't believe what you've accomplished by end of 1st week.
Weeks 1 through 4 : At the end of Week 1, you'll pitch and vote on your own app ideas, then break into small teams to develop them. These days are a bit less structured but every bit as intense. We'll take the "tech lead" role, guiding you to talk through your architecture decisions and how to get unstuck when you hit a wall. And we will hold you accountable for your deliverables.During these three weeks, we'll introduce techniques like agile development, stand-ups, user stories, design and QA. You'll also hone your abilities to talk about your code, plan and estimate a project, and work effectively with clients.
Final Days: The last few days are even more focused. Expect to work late many nights as you complete your app and prepare to submit it to the App Store. On the final day, we'll invite companies and members of tech community to showcase the apps you've built. We'll take a back seat: This is your time to shine—to stand out in front of your peers and potential employers. Enjoy it. You've earned it.
